My son just turned 8, and what was the theme you ask? Well of course, Boston Bruins! He thinks Tim Thomas (Goalie) is super cool. Anyway, his favorite color is yellow, so I think that's the real reason he likes them, but who am I to say. I'm just mom. We are a hockey family, new to it just this last year, and both boys love it! Anyway, here is what I came up with for his party. Just grandparents were invited so I didn't go all out.
Invites: Just used white blank cards, printed out the Boston logo, cut it out and glued it on. Went with black envelopes and after closing the envelope I used the Bruins puck logo as a make shift sticker for the back.
Cake: Yellow cake with vanilla frosting. Piped on the the yellow and black for the logo. Not bad for a 1st timer!
Thanks for looking ****Candie*****

Hello all! Just wanted to share with you this fab creation I did awhile back and keep forgetting to post about. I picked this cabinet door up from our local Habitat for Humanity Store. I decided it would look great with a few coats of paint some vinyl and of course hanging in my laundry room.
Door - $1.00
Vinyl - $7.00
Paint - already had
====== a really inexpensive and super cute idea! ~~~ Hugs, Renee ~~~

Cute little flowerette
So as much as I would like to take credit for this sweet little gem.....I can't! Renee made it, and it took her about an hour to cut and put it all together. I however, borrowed it and attached it to a headband so I could wear it to a benefit that I was attending. It looked O SO CUTE on my head. Sorry, no pictures on my head! ***Candie***
I used a piece of scrap material to attach it to the headband. |
Isn't it cute as pie! |

Vintage No-Sew Throw Pillows
Hey, hope ya'll had a great weekend! It was so beautiful here this weekend. It's about time spring showed up!
Anyway, we visited my BIL yesterday to bring him a little housewarming gift. Throw pillows! I know, I know....your thinking...throw pillows? Well these are not just any throw pillows. 1st, I made them, and yes they are no-sew. Completely done with that steam a seam stuff, that's cause I don't own a sewing machine. 2nd, there vintage....circa 1960's for sure! When I saw this fabric from my MIL, I knew just what I wanted to do with it. My BIL's home decor is circa 1960's, and I thought it would look fab on hisugly not so pretty brown/rust boxy couch that he purchased from an estate sale. Sorry, no picture of the couch.
But here is a picture of them displayed on my couch! Don't those colors just want to make you.....well, there really not that bad. ****Candie*****

Photo Challange-Pets
So this weeks challange is Pets....something i love!! Here's what my dogs are doing on this glorious Sunday afternoon:
One is all hooched out on my BRAND NEW chair cushions and Lucy is resting on my husband pillow, shhh don't tell him, haha!! : )
So anyway I've taken on online photography class this past month from Faith Raider and it was awesome. So I signed up for the SLR Photography class for May and I'm freaking out cuz it looks kinda intense. But I've had this freakin camera for two years and still shoot mostly in manual mode, so it's time to get out of my comfort zone and learn how to use this beast!! Wish me luck! I'm linking this post to her Weekly Photo Challenge. ~~Hugs - Renee~~
